| "Join us on this unique experience and drift back into your childhood of fun and laughter as you travel on a kayak through pristine rain forests, waterfalls and through dark, mysterious tunnels. The "Cruise" starts at 55-519 Hawi Rd, Hawi, Hawaii. After check in you will receive a brief historical perspective before being transported to the mountains in our air-conditioned, 4X4 vans. Fluming is a recreational, cultural and historical wilderness adventure and is fun for the whole family. The excursion travels over privately owned lands to the inaccessible and historic Kohala Sugar Plantation irrigation system. The irrigation system is a 22.5-mile series of open ditches, flumes and tunnels. The "Cruise" is a leisurely trip that meanders over a 3.5-mile scenic portion of the system, traveling through pristine rain forests, over ravines and waterfalls and through dark, mysterious tunnels. “You will get wet” Our local guides are well informed of the Hawaiian history, culture and legends of the Kohala region. It is the birthplace of King Kamehameha and site of the original King Kamehameha statue. " | ||||||||||||||
